About Big Whims

Big Whims is the revival of a Free Company from 2015 -- rebuilt from the ground up by a small group of longtime friends who wanted to make something worth sticking around for. We've got more grey hair than your average XIV FC and we've been raiding since before it was cool. Our fashion sense is middling. We're not nearly as funny as we think we are.

We're casual-friendly, experienced-welcome, and active across all content -- from high-end raids to map nights to burning a Sunday doing absolutely nothing productive. Our FC house, Whimsa Lominsa, is fully decorated and perfectly suited for your AFK needs.

Most members are EST/CST. PST players are tolerated.

On a slightly planned whim, the company split into two groups and dove headfirst into Gargantuaskin maps -- eyes on the prize, hearts set on a Yan. The Yan did not come. The Yan was never going to come. What came instead was a home entertainment system, enough gym equipment to open a small YMCA, and some fabric that might become jeans or sweatshirts depending on who you ask.

Scrib's group walked away with the home entertainment center and the bragging rights that come with it. The other group got the treadmill. We don't talk about the other group.
